I am currently working for Three Bakers Gluten Free Bread. I asked them to send me some bread to try so I knew what it was like, but also I wanted to try a gluten free fast for Zane. They sent me 2 loaves of bread, a package of buns, and a package of hoagie rolls. This is a multiple part series about us trying Gluten Free for Zane you can start here if you want to read the first post: The Gluten Free Fast: Getting Started.
While going through the fast we have found a few favorite items along the way.
Favorite Gluten Free Cereals
EnviroKidz Organic Gorilla Munch Cereal
We found EnviroKidz cereal at our local Costco. I don’t usually try getting cereal that is mainly corn, but with trying to go gluten free I have found this necessary sometimes. This cereal is pretty low in sugar but the boys didn’t even notice. They loved eating it with milk or just eating it as a snack.
Gluten Free Rice Krispies
We actually didn’t use the Gluten Free Rice Krispies as a morning cereal, but for recipes. I made Zane Gluten Free Rice Krispie Treats for a treat at a potluck. I knew there would be treats so I wanted to make sure there was something he could eat. I also used the GF Rice Krispies for our meatballs. They called for panko so instead I used Rice Krispies.
Favorite Gluten Free Staples
Rice Noodles
You can purchase Gluten Free Noodles, but they can be pretty pricey. But check out rice noodles, I found a few of them that were gluten free.
Three Bakers Bread
If you read last weeks post you know that Three Bakers has so far been Zane’s favorite bread we have tried.
Kraft Cheese
A lot of manufactures of cheese use gluten in their cheese or in the powder they use for the shredded cheese. Kraft is very good about disclosing if their products have gluten.
Favorite Gluten Free Snacks
Chobani Champions
I love doing greek yogurt for the boys and I was happy to find that Chobani Champions are gluten free. We love the convenience of Chobani Champions and having less mess.
Goldfish Puffs
This is a brand new product that we love! My boys have always loved goldfish and even with the gluten free fast they can have a version of them. I think they may even like the puffs better than the crackers. The bag was gone in two days.
Food Should Taste Good Rice Crackers
We tried a few different crackers and chips. But the Food Should Taste Good brand was Zane’s favorite. They were tasty and their texture were crisp but not hard.
Hidden Valley Dark Chocolate Protein Bars
There was a little struggle to find a good quick to grab bar. I’ve been looking for months for something low sugar and good protein for the boys. I was glad to see that one of the ones that they enjoy is actually gluten free too.
Matt’s Munchies
I actually go this in my Bestowed box and the boys ate these treats in a couple minutes. They loved them. I liked that they have no sugar added and were a decent portion size. Great natural fruit snack to be able to grab up.
