I’m still working on doing more videos. I thought that you may learn more from some of the things that I do everyday that help me with my healthy goals. I haven’t decided if I will post them all here so you may want to follow my YouTube Channel.

One thing that is a really good thing to plan, is to find ways to get activity with no excuses. The way to stop those excuses is to find solutions.

Excuse #1: Weather

We live in Oregon, it rains all the time! Weather is a very easy excuse here, so one of the things we have found is places like the mall and IKEA are great for walking long distances in a controlled environment. Look around your local area and see if there is any place you can go.

Excuse #2: Time With Family

TJ & I will actually go to IKEA on a date. I know I’m really lucky to have a guy that loves IKEA. But find things that include activity and your family. That really is the best of both worlds! Also this is a great example to your kids, this is one reason I do the Family Fun series on Pepper Scraps. Getting out and getting active helps with stress, shows your kids how to have fun while being active, and gets you active.

Some examples:

Excuse #3: Kids

If your kids are holding you back from being active, find a solution. I know it can be hard getting a good walk in with a slow little one that refuses to be in a stroller.

Find a local babysitter that may be interested in watching your kids for an hour. Find local places that offers childcare that you can be active at. Ask a family member to come by and watch your kids. Do a childcare trade with a neighbor. Find a solution that works for you.

Remember if you find the solutions to your excuses you can’t listen to them any longer!
