Nightly Binky Hunts

Am I the only mommy that is always on the late night binky hunts? I put extras by the door when he loses them but he seems to lose even more on the nights that I have the stash by the door. Am I just spoiling him by finding it for him late at night? Should I let him cry it out when he wakes up and is needing some comfort?

It’s amazing where I find these things, too. When I finally get used to finding it behind the crib just underneath it then they seem to find a new hiding hole underneath the blankets he’s thrown out of the crib.

I think we may be close to a breakthrough though. We have tried just letting him cry it out, but he would cry for hours sometimes. I hated trying to watch the clock and force myself to stay out for a certain amount of time. The time seemed to go even slower then. But now he has seemed to have stopped his crying at night. So hopefully the nightly binky hunts have ended.

  1. I definately know how the binky hunts go.. My 16 month old only uses his to chew on at night before he goes to sleep… and he ends up throwing them out of his bed and in the middle of the night I have to get up and find where he decided to launch them because he spazzes out when he can’t find them! I used to use the clips but he is too smart and un clips them from his clothes! :)

I’m going to enter your design contest, so I’m working on adding an entry to my blog for that! Thanks for the add on twitter(kristinialeanna)!

You got to wonder why do they throw them out of the crib? You think that they would realize they want them and they can’t get them if they throw them. Who knows.

It is so nice when you get past the crawling around on the floor in the dark stage. : ) Do you think they throw them because they miss you and know you’ll come hunt for it? I’m 8 months pregnant right now, so I wonder how long I have until I’m there again. : )

    Becky –

    Congratulations!

To me it seems like it started happening right away. Because before they can throw it they loose it and just can’t put it in themselves. So far I don’t think I have been free of the binky chase since he was born.

Though I gave this binky to a friend and she loves it.

  6. I remember those days with my son. Luckily my daughter wants nothing to do with them!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving get well wishes for my friend!
