He would point at something and say "this" meaning he wanted it. And I find the gender differences interesting also. The first time he saw a toy car he picked it up and went "RRRR" pushing it along. Especially the way you recorded his unique pronunciations! Interesting the gender differences - "doll" was one of Esme's first words, but she's said nothing like car or truck.
