I’m sure some of you may wonder how and why I have gotten to the point of the extreme consideration of Weight Loss Surgery. When I started considering the surgery I started making a list in my head to answer the big question:

Why?

  1. I want to be able to run after my very energetic boys
  2. I want to be able to take them to a play area without worrying: “What if I have to climb up there and get them?”
  3. I want to stop worrying about people looking at me and seeing my weight
  4. I want to be able to take the boys to the park with out worrying about the “long” walk
  5. I want to not have to choose my seat in church, bible study, or anywhere else by “will they notice how much room I take up”
  6. I want to eat without feeling like everyone is watching me and judging me
  7. I want to stop feeling hungry all the time
  8. I want to be able to buy clothes at the same stores as everyone else
  9. I want to go clothes shopping with my friends
  10. I want to be healthy
  11. I want to be around as long as possible for my boys
  12. I don’t want to be out of breath when I climb the stairs
  13. I don’t want to embarrass my boys as they start going to school
  14. I want to be happy with picture of me, not cringe
  15. I want to feel pretty again
  16. I want to be able to share clothes with my friends
  17. I want to be able to take the boys to the park down the road without having to worry about being too tired to make it back
  18. I don’t want to feel like people are looking at me because of my weight
  19. I don’t want to have to worry about diabetes and high blood preasure
  20. I want to proudly put up pictures of me and my family

Everyday I run into a challenge or have a thought that I know would be different if I didn’t have this weight dragging me down. Now I know that there is a possibility I will gain the weight back but I know that I will be healthier and more energetic for my boys as they start getting even more active and noticing differences more. For me I’m hoping that this will motivate me even more to keep the weight off even if I’m not to my ideal weight to be at least lighter.

To Be Continued

I may add this as a page on my site and continue to add to it as new thoughts come to me and new motivators sprout up.
