Weigh In Wed: How to Make an Awesome Protein Shake
One of the main things that I survive off during my liquids only days and one of the things that I make when I’m in a hurry is protein shakes. I love you can make them in hundreds of different flavors and with all kinds of ingredients.
Today I want to share how I create my basic protein shake and share a new product that I’m very excited about that I used to create this shake:
Tillamook Light Yogurt
Tillamook Light Yogurt is made with Truvia a natural calorie free sweetener. Making this yogurt low in calories and high in flavor.
You know I’m a huge greek yogurt eater, but with only 110 calories and 7 grams of protein Tillamook’s new yogurt is amazing! And it is much easier to feed to my boys who are known to turn up their noses to the strong taste of greek yogurt unless it is filled with sugar to cover the flavor.
Pomegranate & Black Berry Protein Shake
Ingredients
- 1 Tillamook Light Pomegranate & Blackberry Yogurt
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1 scoop Protein Powder
- Crushed Ice
Directions
- Add milk

Yes I realize I added too much milk afterwards, oops
- Add protein powder

I used Designer Protein Natural but think Vanilla
would be awesome! (
- Add Ice
- Blend with blender or hand blender till smooth

Tip: Fully immerse the hand blender before turning on. This is the one I have: Cuisinart Immersion Hand Blender
- Pour into a nice cup!
- And enjoy!

More Ingredients Ideas
This is just a very basic recipe, but you can make amazing shakes with just a few changes to your ingredients. Here is just a few ideas of other things you can add to your shake to change the flavor or add more nutrition:
- Greens (Arugula, cilantro, lettuce, spinach, etc)
- Fruits (fresh or frozen, just not too much)
- Flavored Sugar Free Syrups
- Sugar Free Pudding Mix (Pistachio is my favorite)
- Sugar Free Jello Mix
- Nut Butter (Peanut, almond, sunflower, just not too much)

I usually just like to add bananas, strawberries, yogurt and blueberries but not too many. I like my shakes to be a certain color…lol

looks really good. I’ve never tried greek yougurt but I have heard good things. Everybody I know likes it. Instead of using protein pwder, I think I’ll make it with my nutritional shake mix. Thanks for the idea.

I have never tried the yogurt in my shakes. I use 1 banana, some blueberries, milk, and a protein powder in a french vanilla flavor or strawberry which is kinda nice with the blueberries as it adds the strawberry flavor.
