Photo Fridays: Construction

This week was filled with a huge disaster in my home. The hose behind the washing machine burst and my house flooded, upstairs and down. It was stressful, discouraging, and upsetting, but turned to a blessing in disguise. We have been putting off changing the floors for years. Couldn’t decide what we wanted to do and never had the money to do it.

Well still don’t have the money so I decided to do it the most inexpensive and easy way we can right now. I’m painting the floors!

Pulled all tack strips and staples. And had some help hammering any nails down.

First coat had to dry 8 hours. We used floor & porch paint.

Got second coat down the next day.

Now to do the rest of the house.

I pulled all the carpet on the stairs & sent a picture to my husband at work with the word “Surprise!”

And then I pulled everything downstairs. Everyone thought I was going crazy!

I have to say “great idea”. Cost reducing but still beauty enhancing. Thumbs up.
