Good Morning new hair color.

Being a part time working out of the home/part time working at home mom can make the week seem even shorter and the day not seem like there is enough time to get everything done. Do you feel like that sometimes? Part of being a healthy mom is to use your time wisely and to stay organized. So I thought I would share how I organize my day.

Start with a List

My to do list is healed and in use!

I personally use Wunderlist, I love it because I have it on my phone, my tablet, and my computer. My to do list is with me at all times and it fits in my purse and cannot get lost. I have my list separated out into list for different parts of my life:

  • MIT (Most Important Tasks)
  • Blogging
  • Design Business
  • Construction (I’m redoing our floors)
  • Housework
  • Cooking & Recipes
  • Eye Work (My Out of the Home Job
  • Zane’s Homework

Each morning I go through each list add what needs to be done and then I star the things that have to be done today! I usually have a few things that I have to do everyday and those I put in my MIT list. Usually exercise, bible study and make dinner is on my MIT list.

What is nice about Wunderlist also is I can add things to the list that need to be done another day and add the date to the item. Also while I’m doing my planning session for the morning if I think of something I need to do but can’t do it today I can still add it to the list.

Pomodoro

Pomodoro-välineet

Where I get into trouble is sometimes I feel like I have too many tasks or I feel like a task will take forever and it can feel overwhelming. That is when I use a timer. I like using a pomodoro timer on my computer or on my tablet because you can put your list on it and block out a 25 minute section of time for each task. Or if you have a really long task you can assign it a couple sessions.

I use Pomodairo for Windows on my laptop, which has a very loud buzzer so works great for downstairs and sometimes even upstairs. I also have Pomodroido on my tablet for when I’m upstairs or outside.

Have a Focus

Focus

Each day I try and give myself a focus. What is my focus going to be today? Here are some of the focus’ I have:

  • Set everything aside and spend time with my boys
  • Get a large design job done
  • Schedule out posts for a full week or two on my blog
  • Social media day
  • Have a cooking day and make lots of recipes

Organize Your List

Junk Drawer I

I look at my starred list on Wunderlist and add them to my Pomodairo app. I then put them in order from most important to least important. As I go down the list I can get what I absolutely need to do done first. Sometimes things happen and if you don’t make it to the bottom of the list that’s okay. If you had the most important things on the top you will get those done.

How do you organize your day?
