Have you seen the new #commenthour website yet?! I’m very excited as #commenthour is moving to a new level. This was a quick change and with a few challenges along the way. But what have I learned from this experience? The support of other bloggers is amazing!

I think one of the most heartwarming thing has been seeing how many of you have visited the new site and have commented on the announcement of the new #commenthour. To see the well wishes from so many people has encouraged me and brightened my day. These comments really just made me smile and know that the community we are building at #commenthour is going to be like nothing else!

Now I’m not supermom and I don’t expect you to be either, but hopefully you may try one or two of these activities with me and my kids! You don’t have to do every single one and you don’t even have to do it this week. I just hope to give a resource for some great fun!

Some weeks I may have a theme and some I may not but either way we are going to have some fun together.

Advent calendars are one of my all time favorite things as a child so this next week is dedicated to them.

1. Quick & Easy Advent Calendar – You can either use those neat tree doilies or have your little one cut out a tree. Or if you have a really young child have them paint it. And you will be ready to start your countdown!
2. Weekend Make and Takes Advents – I love this chain advent, you could help your child with this by using glue dots and showing them where the rings go. You can do it in the tree form or in a regular chain. Or for older children make it a scavenger hunt and put clues on the links.
3. Christmas Craft Stick Bookmarks – These could be turned into a fun advent. Help your child make 24 and use them by pulling each one out of a jar as you come closer to Christmas. What do you think, any ideas?
4. Advent Chains Easy Christmas Craft – Another chain advent but I love how you learn the true meaning of Christmas with this one!
5. Cookie Advent – This may be my favorite of all. Let your child help you make cookies. Zane love to help me dump measuring cups in and count the items (eggs, cups of sugar, etc). But then you can let them decorate their cookies also. I love it!

1. Messy Masterpeice – This may be a little messy but looks like lots of fun and I love her idea of throwing them in the tub afterwards.
2. Indian Corn Art – I’ve been wanting to start teaching Zane how to use scissors and I think this would be a great beginner project for that since it would be very forgiving.
3. Little Pumpkin Turkey – Your little one can help you make the faces and then you stick in the “feathers”. Uses: Kids Centerpiece for Thanksgiving, Daycare gift, Neighbor Gift (this may be what we do) and any other ideas.
4. Pressed Leaves Placemat – You can even do this with a 1 year old just lay the contact paper out and let them have fun placing the leaves.
5. Super Cute Thanksgiving Hats – I know another turkey craft, your going to be having turkey’s take over your house. But they are sooo cute!

1. Turkey Centerpieces – Eek, these are just so cute and you can even have your littlest ones do some of the decoupaging!
2. Turkey Handprints – I’m sure you remember doing these as a kid, now it’s your kids’ turn!
3. Turkey Tubes – Got to love toilet paper tube crafts. This one is great because you can just give the right color crayons to your children and let them scribble away.
4. Turkey Basket – You make the turkey and your kids’ make the feathers!
5. Counting Down to Turkey – This is very cute and fun. I love advent calendars so we may try this this year. I like the idea of writing what we are thankful for on the feathers. This year I will write them for the boys but maybe later we will have them do it!

Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you get to enjoy a wonderful family and friend filled day with yummy turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. I wrote this post a little bit ahead because that’s what I will be doing today!

It doesn’t surprise me this list is overflowing. When you have children you have so many things to be thankful for. What are you thankful for?
