Years have passed from when I wrote about mom’s need to be in the photos with their family. I have gotten used to taking those photos, getting us together, snapping those selfies. Yet those moments are just flashes of smiles and giggles.
Today we went to a local nature park and in a sudden moment the laughs and giggles turned to tears and heartbreak. This is us right now. Riding a roller coaster of emotions as our lives change, our family changes.
I don’t know what made me shoot this photo. My phone was already ready as I had been exploring the world of photography. It just took a second. When I got home and looked through the photos. The emotion from this photo shook me. I considered not sharing it. But then I realized this moment defines something important. Truth.
I’ve captured multiple moments of contemplation that crosses these boys faces but I share them only rarely. But they are part of their story. Part of our story.
Make sure to capture those moments and share them.
