I received a sample of Unreal candy in the mail to try out before the Get Unjunked Unreal Twitter Party. I decided to try it out on our family movie night on Sunday. We always have popcorn but I thought it would be fun to have some candy this evening too!
I separated out the candy for each of use to try. At first I was a little disappointed in the color of the candy till I realized that they are all naturally colored. Kinda cool! I was going to give the boys each a piece of the candybar but it got squished in the mail, oh well, mommy had to eat it.
The boys started munching down on them right away. I don’t know if the movie had even started yet. I asked Zane what he thought of the candy and he said “Good!” which from my picky eater is a ringing endorsement.
Zarek loved it and started begging for more, he’s my sweet eater so it didn’t surprise me. He actually ended up eating my portion too. And as you can see they melt in your mouth just as well as any other candy.
So what’s the difference?
Basically Unreal’s goal is to offer a candy that tastes good, has no preservatives, no artificial ingredients, no corn syrup, or GMOs. Plus they are lower in calories and sugar, and are a bit higher in protein and fiber. So you don’t have to feel as guilty about eating them. If you are interested in learning more about the nutrition and how to compare them to the other candy out there check out their website.
Now I have to go on a hunt to find their Peanut Butter Cups, because that is my husband’s Achilles heal. I would love to give him a better option and if I’m tempted to steal one I don’t have to feel as guilty. Plus he is always the real taste tester I would love his opinion on them.
Have you tried Unreal candy? What do you think of a healthier candy option?
[box]Disclaimer: If you didn’t notice I received this candy free, they did not ask for me to write about it, it was a taste test for the party. But I loved it so much I thought I would share. So this is totally my opinion.[/box]
Healthy Mom = Healthy Family - That is my life motto and I hope to encourage it to be yours too. January 2011 I made the decision to lose weight and lost 80+ pounds. I saw my boys start getting active with me and I realized I wasn't only changing my life but also my boys.
