Okay you can tell I’m not very good at this party thing. So Wendy over at Tales from the Motherhood totally made me realize I’m just as good at this blog party thing as I am at real life parties. I loved her introduction so I am going to write a little more about me!
High School SweetHearts
I married my high school sweetheart 9 years ago. We met when we were 16, just recently my lovely hubby mentioned how this next year we will have known each other 1/2 our lives. Wow, that’s kinda crazy.
The Star
It took us 6 years to get pregnant with our first son, Zane, and he was truly a blessing. He is my shining star. He is bright and loves music and is going to be a star athlete in school. Which we have no idea where he got any of these skills since his daddy and I are not musically talented or into sports.
My SunShine
The surprise was when we got pregnant quickly after having Zane. Zarek was born 1 month to the day before Zane’s 2nd birthday, they are 23 months apart. Zarek is my little sunshine. He is full of smiles and snuggles. He is always happy no matter what, well give him two seconds after his brother has stollen his toy. He will play and play then run over to you to give you a snuggle hug and then run off to play again. I can’t wait to see how his personality continues to blossom.
My New Business Adventure
I’m starting out on a new adventure this year with starting a new business. I have had Uniquehorn Designs for a long time, but this year the business has just blossomed out of no where! I have worked with HTML and CSS for over 12 years and I have worked with wordpress for over 5 years. (I have also been blogging before it was even called blogging). I have always wanted to do it professionally and had an odd job here and there, but now I have a full blown business.
My goal with my business is to be able to stay home with my boys. I would like to be able to home school Zane at least for preschool and so far this goal is looking acheivable.
So that is me in a nutshell. Here I am eatting cereal for dinner, watching 21 jumpstreet and partying at a blog party. The most exciting thing about my day was I got to go to the dentist and get my front tooth fixed, no more icky cavity showing through! Hmm, maybe I need to do more with my life.
HI PEPPER!! π
I think by the time we have a couple kids, the whole party thing just gets harder and harder. Who wants to be out whooping it up when you could be home in your pj’s instead?
I hope you have a great time with UBP, though! π
FYI Love your name! I think it doesn’t help my hubby works nights too, so we never get out. Plus I’m just quiet! π
Hopping by from UBP – you do great work. I even added your prize to my prize list…stop by #34 on the list.
Found you from your comment on Tales from the Motherhood. I could immediately symphathize because I’m awkward in party situations and had a terrible time trying to figure out what to write for my party post as well. Based on your comment at Tales from the Motherhood, I’d expected a terrible first party post, but it was very good! And the second one even better! Enjoy UBP10!
Much hotter. Thanks for spicing it up for me π
And I think you will love chapter 2 of my book. Six years to get pregnant. What a test and so glad for who came out of that! We did not have infertility, but lost our first child to Trisomy 13 when she was 4 days old. But we have a lot of friends who have struggled with infertility and I write about it in the book. I actually have one of my girlfriend’s emails in the book when she talks about her struggle. Anyway, so glad you expanded (your family and your post!)
I am not a cool partier either but I am SOOO glad you came to MY little party. I love having new people read our story and it gives me a chance to see others out there with the same struggles and the ups and downs of motherhood!!
Thanks again for coming over and IRL I would TOTALLY party with yoU!
I love parties but it is so hard when you have little ones. I’m loving UBP though so we can visit some each day and have fun all week!
P.S. I absolutely love the name Pepper!
Wow, six years to get pregnant! That is some dedication! I tried for nearly a year to get pregnant the second time (they’re 35 months apart) and it was heartbreaking each month of waiting.
I stay home with my kids, and money is tight but we’re making it work. If it’s your goal, you’ll find a way to make it work and your kids will definitely benefit from it. π
Aww only 9 comments! C’Mon people give her some more love!

At least you didn’t screw the whole thing up like I did!
Your bio type of post is very interesting – congrats on your business, good luck with your goals to stay home with your children & home school them, and kudos for utilizing the letter Z the way you did!
Visiting from UBP. I love your boys names.
Just found you at the Party!!! Your Star & SunShine are so so precious. And yes! Such a blessing.
We’d love to have you over our way and keep this party going!!!

Hi from SITS! I love your love story and the story about your boys. 10 and 8 pounds?!?!? That’s great! My little guy was 5lbs 6oz, so I love bigger babies. π
