Today for weigh in wednesday I wanted to talk about how portion sizes at restaurants are just crazy. But is that really all their fault or is the public outcry that more for your money is better. What do you think?

You mean 2,000 calories as one portion? I agree with you, that’s too much. I would call that gorging one’s self, not eating; or living to eat, not eating to live.
Yes one serving at 2000 calories. I can understanding have an indulgence one in a while, but this was excessive.
As someone who has lived about 1/2 my time in NY and the other half in Bradford UK I can say it really depends on where you are but in the US people expect to eat until they can eat no more and people do openly complain if they do not get a massive meal, I dont see the need myself but its the way things have ended up!
I agree. It’s crazy! I, too, have heard people complain about small portion sizes at restaurants when it’s really a reasonable size. I think people feel like they’re not getting as much for their money if the smaller servings are similar in price to the large servings. I don’t think I’ve ever actually eaten an entire restaurant entree. I usually split with someone or take some home.
I would split things but my hubby orders the same thing over and over, so not really a choice for me. I do try to box up half, but I may have to get bolder asking if they are willing to do a half portion.
