Summary: AT&T Mobile sent us the HMDX Jam Bluetooth Wireless Speaker for review. After using the Jam Bluetooth Wireless Speaker for a few weeks now there are things I love about it and things that could be better.
Pros:
- Easy to use and setup
- Very portable
Cons:
- Battery life could be better
- Sound quality is just okay
The Android Dad’s Review:
I have been using the Jam Bluetooth Wireless Speaker for several weeks now. The speaker has been a nice way to listen to content from my phone while in the car, as well as to play audio books for my boys.
First Impressions
When I first received the Jam Speaker it was ready to go out of the box. Pairing the device to my phone was quick and easy. Once paired the Jam Speaker provided much better audio than the tiny speaker on my phone. It fits nicely in the cup holder of my car and is plenty loud to listen to while driving on the freeway.
I decided to try letting my boys listen to audio books with the Jam Speaker and they have decided the love to listen to it for their bedtime story.
A Couple Cons
I only have two complaints with the Jam Speakers. The first is the battery life. I have to be careful to turn the speaker off if I leave it in the car when I go in to work. If I forget to turn it off it will be dead before I leave work. I can plug it into the car but a longer battery life would be nice. Secondly the sound quality is just alright. For audiobooks or podcasts the Jam Speaker is great. Music is alright but not stellar.
Conclusion
Overall I would say the Jam Bluetooth Wireless Speakers would be a good buy for some people. If you want an easy way to share audio and can plug it in when needed it is a nice option. If you are an audiophile then the sound quality from the Jam Speaker is probably not going to be what you are looking for.
Love this site!
I agree with your review. It’s a nice little speaker but if you want the real deal you might have to go for something more expensive, like the Bose SoundLink Mini for instance.
