I’m Pepper and I wanted to introduce myself to you and I’m thrilled to get to start knowing you to!
My Weight Loss Journey
I started my weight loss journey January 2011 and have lost 80 lbs since then. November 2, 2011 I had weight loss surgery and got the Lapband. I chose to get a Lapband because I wanted motivation, accountability, help keeping the weight off, and a tool to help me remember to eat slow, portion control and make healthy food choices. I lost 50 lbs before surgery and 30 lbs since. I am just starting to get into the green zone in my band.
Weight Loss Surgery is not the easy way out. It is hard and you have to know what to expect from the surgery. You still have to do all the work. If you want to learn more about my journey explore my blog and watch some more of my videos. You can find some of my best posts in the links below.
More About Pepper
I’ve been blogging since 1998 and am a graphic designer with my own business, Uniquehorn Designs, and work outside of the home part time.
I’m a mom of two boys, Zarek (3yo) & Zane(5yo) and am married to my high school sweetheart, TJ. My boys are my biggest motivation! In January 2011 I started realizing I couldn’t keep up with them anymore. I would get winded and tired from just going up the stairs in our house! Something had to change!
Some of the exciting things that I have seen in the last few months:
My boys and I actually jogged to the park a half mile away and they were having troubles keeping up with me! That would never have happened with those 80 extra pounds I was carrying before.
My boys have also started exercising with me. Especially my youngest, Zarek. I put in my videos and he comes running to join me. He doesn’t get any of the moves right, but he still is running around and being active. I have some great pictures of him doing down facing dog. It has been amazing to see how much the changes in my life have already start effecting my family.
That is why one of my mottoes is Healthy Mom = Healthy Family

Yay Pepper!!
Welcome aboard, so glad you decided to jump on the Mamavation train 🙂
I think when you first tell people that you go the lapband surgery they don’t realize how much work you put into your weight loss BEFORE you had the surgery. You lost the majority of your weight before which was no small feat.
You are amazing and it’s been awesome to see you develop into the new, small, version of you. 🙂
First off, welcome! Second, woohoo! 80lbs is amazing! You are certainly an inspiration and I’m excited to get to know you better 🙂
My 3yr old liked to workout with me also. I can’t help but laugh at her moves and cheerleading.
